Less than a month away and counting.
Xiaomi's global vice president, Hugo Barra, took to his Twitter account Tuesday morning to make it official — the Chinese mobile manufacturer's first product launch of the year, its Mi 5 smartphone, will be available soon.
CNET adds that the Mi 5 will launch as part of the Mobile World Congress trade show in Barcelona next month.
While the specs for the Xiaomi's next-in-line of the Mi series is currently unknown, in a January 6 tweet, Barra blurted out, "My own Mi 5 just rolled off our production line today and ... into my pocket. Qualcomm Snapdragon 820. So worth the wait :)"
So, at least we know what kind of high-powered processor the Mi 5 will be touting. Going by previous rumored reports, the Mi 5 is expected to have a metal body with a fingerprint scanner embedded into its home button on its 5.2-inch display — a number that has been thrown around before. It is also expected to feature a 16-megapixel rear-facing camera and 13-megapixel selfie cam.
This will follow the impressive Mi 4.
