Scooby-Doo and the rest of the mystery-solving gang have partnered up with their fair share of iconic faces over the years: Batman and Robin, the Harlem Globetrotters, the Addams Family and Tim Conway, just to name a few. Almost all of those guest stars have been allies, however. Why aren't there episodes of Scooby-Doo with guest appearances from iconic horror villains?
Wonder no more, as artist IBTrav has imagined just that in a series of illustrations that look like they could have been ripped straight from the classic television show. All the classic cinema slashers are here: Jason from "Friday the 13th," Freddy from "Nightmare on Elm Street," Michael Myers from "Halloween." You can check out the images in the gallery to the left.
Each horror icon is expertly drawn into scenes from the show and look perfectly in place. Just glancing at them you might be fooled into thinking they are actual stills from the cartoon, not incredibly detailed and spot-on illustrations. Scooby and Shaggy wouldn't have an easy time escaping from these baddies, that's for sure.
The art is getting some much deserved publicity after Rob Zombie shared the art depicting Captain Spaulding on his official Facebook page. Makes you wish the art was the real deal, but at least we can see what it would have looked like had it actually happened.
