Obsidian Lead Writer Ups The Hype For A New 'Fallout' Game: 'Fallout: New Vegas 2' In The Cards?

Fallout: New Vegas is one of the best games in the franchise. Some even believe it is "the" best, so when a developer from Obsidian says he would love to return to Fallout, fans should get excited.

Eric Fenstermaker, the lead story writer at Obsidian games, shared on Twitter that the team would be up for working on a new Fallout game because it was fun. This revelation came to be after a fan asked him if there are plans at Obsidian to work on a new Fallout title in the future.

"I'm always up for working on a Fallout. I think most of us generally are. Really fun property to work with," he said.

Bear in mind that this isn't a confirmation that Obsidian is indeed working on a new Fallout game, but knowing the team is willing makes us very excited for what could happen should Bethesda deliver an olive branch.

The timing as it stands is perfect for a new Fallout game. Since Fallout 4 is fully fleshed out, the developer would have a base to work from. Chances are, Bethesda will likely shift its attention to The Elder Scrolls 6, and such a game would take years to see the light of day.

Allowing Obsidian to continue pushing Fallout to the masses in ways similar to how things were done after Fallout 3 should make for a bunch of happy and excited fans.

Bethesda should consider the possibility that Fallout 4 will likely die down within the next year on consoles due to several new and exciting games being released. To keep fans invested, there needs to be another Fallout game similar to New Vegas, and Obsidian is more than perfect for the job.

Furthermore, after seeing the positive response from this Reddit post, it is safe to assume that fans are looking forward to a new Fallout game from Obsidian. With more than 500 comments and counting, Bethesda should take note and also bear in mind the amount of love fans have for Fallout: New Vegas.
