Google Updates Weather Experience On Android App To Better Prepare Users For A Storm

A blizzard watch has been issued for the Northeast, including Washington D.C., Baltimore, and New York City this weekend.

Google wants users of its app on Android smartphones to be better prepared for snow and rainstorms moving forward ... especially when they're unexpected.

That's precisely why the company announced an update to its app on Android phones on Thursday, now allowing users to search for "weather" or simply ask Google "will it rain today?"

Doing either will result in a wealth of new information, including hourly sky conditions and probability of rain, air quality, severe weather alerts, UV index, times of sunrise and sunset, and a detailed 10-day forecast.

Tapping on the weather result will also enable you to search for locations and save the ones you frequent most or want to be abreast of.

Part of the weather update is also its new design, which allows for a quick glance to see the current weather and also what the day looks like, as well as background colors that change as they respond to sky conditions.

When it comes to the weather, it's better to be prepared than not. This weather update on Google's app should make it easier on Android smartphone users' lives.
