During his reign over boxing, "Iron" Mike Tyson wasn't only the youngest Heavyweight Champion in the sport's history — he was the baddest man on the planet, period.
Fast forward to today and Tyson — when he's not making cameos in movies — is still a fixture ringside at some of boxing's more prominent fights. He's also quite the mixed martial arts (MMA) fan, known to show up and support the UFC during its pay-per-view events, too.
Well, to that end Wednesday, EA Sports unleashed a captivating gameplay trailer, entitled Fight Like Mike Tyson, revealing the former champ to be a special character for those who pre-order the UFC 2 Deluxe Edition.
Pre-ordering the highly-anticipated title for PlayStation 4 or Xbox One will instantly unlock "Iron" Mike Tyson, the youngest Heavyweight Champion in boxing history at 20-years and four months, and Legacy Mike Tyson, equipped with his iconic face tattoo, as special characters.
If there's anyone who captures the raw essence of fighting and its ferocity, it's Tyson, who annihilated opponents to a 37-0 record, before suffering his first loss in a stunning February 1990 upset at the hands of James "Buster" Douglas.Tyson as a playable character in UFC 2 should be a huge attraction to fight fans and gamers, alike, especially considering it boasts what EA is touting as its "Knockout Physics System." Tyson's legendary boxing career was synonymous with KOs, counting 44 of them to his record, so this fit more than makes sense.
While unlocking two Tyson characters should be enough of a reason for gamers to pre-order the UFC 2 Deluxe Edition, the promotion also includes unleashing UFC Hall of Famer Bas Rutten and "The Gracie Hunter" Kazushi Sakuraba as additonal characters.
UFC 2 is slated for a March 15 release on PS4 and Xbox One.
