Netflix released the first teaser trailer for the upcoming original feature film Pee-Wee's Big Holiday on Tuesday, announcing the movie will premiere on the platform on March 18 worldwide.
Paul Reubens will reprise his famous childlike character Pee-Wee Herman in the Netflix original film, which will tell the story of the quirky man-child meeting a mysterious stranger who inspires him to take his first-ever holiday.
Directed by John Lee (Inside Amy Schumer), written by Reubens and Paul Rust (Love, Arrested Development) and produced by Judd Apatow (Trainwreck, Love) and Reubens, Pee-Wee's Big Holiday will also star Joe Manganiello (True Blood, Magic Mike XXL), Jessica Pohly (Stalker), Alia Shawkat (Arrested Development) and Stephanie Beatriz (Brooklyn Nine-Nine).
"Judd and I dreamt up this movie four years ago. The world was much different back then — Netflix was waiting by the mailbox for red envelopes to arrive. I've changed all that. The future is here. Get used to it. Bowtie is the new black," Reubens said in a press release.
The teaser for the film starts off with Pee-Wee excitedly sitting up in bed, saying good morning to his alarm clock, which then sparks a series of his inventions going off to allow him to get out of bed and fly out of the house with ease.
