The first press preview day of the North American International Auto Show (Naias) on Monday rolled out with several exciting new rides.
The second media preview day, Tuesday, wasn't any different, as the likes of Acura, Lincoln, Toyota and more introduced their most thrilling concepts and 2017 models.
Here, Tech Times lists the five most exciting vehicle reveals (2017 models and concepts) from media preview day two of the North American International Auto Show. Get your motor running!
Lincoln Continental
It's back ... and possibly better than ever before. The 2017 Lincoln Continental, which wowed as a concept last year, will hit the production line this fall, revealing an ultra-sleek and luxurious look, bringing the one-time flagship vehicle of the automaker to the forefront once again.
Updated with a 3.0-liter V6 engine that pumps out 400 horsepower, the new and improved Continental features hidden electric door handles and slight-touch technology, allowing them to open with the greatest of ease.
It also touts an available panoramic glass panel, blanketing the entire roof, in addition to a 360-degree camera monitoring system, adaptive cruise control and a collision-assist technology, which includes pedestrian detection. Looks like one ultra-smooth ride.
Somebody get Miami Heat president and NBA legend Pat Riley to reprise his role of Lincoln pitchman, please.
Toyota Mirai-based Research Vehicle
Part of the Detroit Auto Show and even the car segments of the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2016 before it is to give automakers the stage to prove how they can push technology into the future. Toyota took that opportunity to heart, revealing its Mirai-based fuel-cell-powered vehicle, equipped with satellite communications technology by Kymeta, a world-leading company in flat-panel antennas.
Toyota says the research vehicle is aimed at its goal of improving its vehicles' connectivity and serves as a platform on how the automaker will install a Data Communication Module into a widespread selection of its cars. Kymeta's flat antennas will allow Toyota to bolster its vehicles with seamless integration during assembly or even post-purchase, the automaker says.
Fisker Force F1
Lord have mercy. The Fisker Force F1 is a living, breathing monster, roaring with a mind-numbing carbon-fiber V10, 745 horsepower engine. Enough power for you? Sheesh.
Smart Car Fortwo Cabriolet
A drop-top Smart Car? Well, why not? Scheduled for a summer U.S. release, the 2017 Smart Car Fortwo Cabriolet presents just what its name suggests — a two-seater convertible. Its convertible canvas roof can be dropped or raised via the remote key fob or buttons in the car in 12 seconds flat.
Weighing just 176 pounds, the Fortwo Cabriolet will give drivers 39 miles per gallon on the highway and 32 miles per gallon in the city — not to mention, it can easily fit in the tightest of parking spots.
Acura Precision
One would be hard-pressed to tab a concept designed as boldly as the Acura Precision over the two media preview days at the Detroit Auto Show.
At a reported 204 inches long and 84 inches wide, the Precision sports what Acura calls the "diamond pentagon" for a grille and sits on 22-inch wheels. It has futuristic technology specs that take after its boldly-designed cues.
The Precision concept boasts what Acura calls its "Jewel Constellation" LED headlamps and its "Human Machine Interface (HMI)" with a floating touchpad.
Mash the dash into the future, although there's no word as of yet when or if the concept will hit the production line anytime soon.
