'Star Wars: The Old Republic' To Get New Episode Next Month

BioWare's MMORPG Star Wars: The Old Republic expansion "Knights of the Fallen Empire" will get a new episode next month called "Anarchy in Paradise."

The episode is the first of seven chapters that will build upon a story about one of the main characters of the expansion, the Outlander.

"'Anarchy in Paradise' introduces a new ally, an infamous mercenary known as Firebrand. Her mission is to destroy the Eternal Empire by attacking Zakuul and crushing the seat of power, the Eternal Throne, by any means necessary," writes EA in a press statement. "It will be up to the Outlander to decide just how far he or she is willing to go to beat the Eternal Emperor. Players will experience the grim consequences of their past decisions and feel the grip of the hand of fate on their dangerous journey."

Players with a subscription to The Old Republic will get all the content for "Knights of the Fallen Empire" free, but they must maintain an active subscription to continue playing through that content.

In addition to the expansion pack, BioWare also announced a new rewards program for game subscribers. The program offers "unique monthly in-game reward items" to those who have active subscriptions to The Old Republic. This month's item is an HK-55 Assassin Droid.

"As your loyal bodyguard and personal Assassin Droid, HK-55 is sure to be a prized addition to your alliance," writes BioWare on the game's website. "Meatbags, beware! This reward will be released alongside Chapter 10. Players who unlock this reward will receive an Alliance Alert to recruit HK-55 once they complete Chapters 1-9."

Players who maintain an active subscription from January through August will also get a bonus chapter in the game: a mission that allows users to play as HK-55 through a unique mission.

Star Wars: The Old Republic released in 2008 for PC and has remained an active MMORPG since then. The "Knights of the Fallen Empire" expansion pack debuted in October and gave the game new life by turning its focus back to storytelling, while adding new worlds, new companions and new choices that affect gameplay.

"Anarchy in Paradise" will become available on Feb. 11.
