Samsung Galaxy S7, S7 Edge Alleged Specs Leak: 4GB RAM, 12MP Camera, MicroSD Card And More

Details regarding the purported Samsung Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge have been dominating tons of headlines ahead of their introduction. Now, a full specs sheet emerged on Weibo, confirming a handful of things that surfaced in the past.

Here is a rundown of what have been revealed on the newly leaked specs sheet.

MicroSD Slot – The rumor claims both models will pack a microSD slot.

Screen Sizes – Alongside the 5.1-inch Galaxy S7, a larger 5.5-inch Galaxy S7 edge is also set to be released soon. This means Samsung wants to wow fans of both large and small handsets.

What strikes this leaked info sheet as odd, though, is that the S6 edge+ is listed with a 5.5-inch display, instead of 5.7-inch one. This, however, could only be a typo error.

Bigger Batteries – The source lists that the S7 will rock a 3,000 mAh battery while the S7 edge will pack in 3,600 mAh one.

If the rumor is true, these are going to be the largest juice packs in the history of the company’s Galaxy S line.

Earlier rumors claim Samsung is working on more humongous batteries for its new flagship smartphones.

Memory – The Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge have been listed boasting 4 GB of RAM (similar to what's included in the Galaxy S6 edge+). As a point of comparison, the Galaxy S6 is equipped with 3 GB of RAM under its hood.

Camera – In terms of camera, the Galaxy S7 is said to sport a 12-megapixel shooter with f/1.7 lens. Meanwhile, the Galaxy S7 edge will feature similar camera specs.

Release Date And Pricing

Rumor has it that the 21 GB S7 model will have €699 (about $755) price tag. The 32 GB S7 edge, however, is expected to be priced at €799 (about $863).

Meanwhile, the 64 GB variants could cost roughly about €80 ($86) more than the 32 GB variants’ price tags.

Rumors corroborate that these long awaited phones could be unveiled this coming February and are slated to go on sale within the same month. Specifically, rumors point to a Feb. 21 Unpacked event.

This means loyal fans will have to wait a little while before getting their hands on Samsung’s next big things.

At this point, we have yet to hear Samsung’s official word as to when it plans to launch these phones.

For now, it is wise to file this story in the rumor category. As always, we will keep you updated as soon as new information surfaces.
