At this point, fans don't really know much about FX's Legion. Aside from the fact that it centers around son of Charles Xavier and long-time X-Men villain David Haller, there's still quite a bit about the network's first foray into the Marvel Universe that remains shrouded in mystery. Basically, Marvel announced the show and its premise late last year...and that was it.
Since then, both Marvel and FX have remained extremely tight-lipped - with no release date announced yet, it'll likely be some time before fans learn more about the show. Fans did learn that Fargo showrunner Noah Hawley would be running things, and that several producers from previous X-Men films would be involved. Earlier today, however, fans finally got their first glimpse at the cast of Legion.
According to The Wrap, Rachel Keller - best known for her work on the second season of FX's Fargo - will team up with Hawley once again as Legion's female lead. As with everything Legion-related, there's not much information on Keller's role in the production...but her inclusion alone is enough to get excited.
For anyone who hasn't seen the show, Keller plays Simone Gerhardt, one of the major players in Fargo's second season. Her performance, along with the show's second season, was met with universal acclaim - in fact, the second season of Fargo boasts a 100% 'Certified Fresh' rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
All things considered, it makes a lot of sense that Keller would work with Hawley again - regardless of the show's subject matter or inspirations, it's hard to argue with a 100% on one of the Internet's biggest review aggregates. With any luck, Legion will be just as well-received as the duo's previous work.
