Dell unveiled two new wireless monitors at CES in Las Vegas on Wednesday, with one having a standout feature that will get techies excited — the ability to wirelessly charge a smartphone.
First up is Dell's UltraSharp 23 Wireless monitor, which features a 23-inch full HD display that lets the user cast their screen from Android and Windows devices via Bluetooth and Miracast, the display technology that is built into Windows 10 and Android smartphones.
The Dell 23 Wireless Monitor has a 178-degree viewing angle, two USB 2.0 ports, standard HDMI and dual three-watt speakers. However, its main selling point is that users can place their smartphone, such as a Samsung Galaxy S6 or Microsoft Lumia 950, at its base to power up the device using its built-in wireless charging standards: Qi and PMA.
Dell also announced the UltraSharp 24 Wireless Monitor that has a slightly larger display at 23.8-inches. While this monitor doesn't offer the wireless phone charging capability, it does sport a smaller bezel, enhanced color reproduction and four USB 3.0 ports.
The Dell UltraSharp 24 Wireless monitor retails for $469, whereas the Dell 23 Wireless monitor retails for $429. Both monitors will be available on March 31.
The company also refreshed its Latitude 7000 lineup by introducing a new 10.8-inch, 12.5-inch, and 13-inch models, as well as a new 2-in-1 version of the 12.5-inch Latitude 7000.
