Tonight's pre-CES Sony press conference was honestly pretty lackluster, so far as those things go, but there were a couple of fascinating tidbits that came out of the end like the new Ultra 4K streaming service - and this guy.
That right there is the PS-HX500, and yes, it's a turntable. Yep, Sony's embracing the vinyl renaissance with this new gadget. The record player features Hi-Res audio capture up to DSD 5.6MHz, so users can record vinyl-quality audio to their computer.
The turntable is still firmly in prototype mode, but the one Sony has on site is extremely slick looking. I certainly wouldn't mind setting the thing up in my living room. And I'll get my chance along with the rest of you this Spring.
Jury's still out on pricing, however.
