Ubisoft has plans to keep players engaged with Rainbow Six Siege throughout 2016 with four new DLC packs. The first, Operation Black Ice, was scheduled to go live for season pass holders on January 12th, but it looks like players will have to wait a little longer than that.
In response to a fan question on Twitter asking for clarification on the date, the official Rainbow Six account has confirmed that Operation Black Ice has been delayed until Feb. 2 for season pass holders, a three week delay.
Operation Black Ice is to be the first of the game's four planned DLC packs in 2016, with each pack containing new maps, weapon skins, gadgets and operators to play as. Ubisoft has not yet revealed all the new content coming in Operation Black Ice, but has confirmed two new operators and a new map will be included. The game's next scheduled DLC pack is slated for April, with two more coming in July and October.
Season pass holders will be the first to play as new operators, though the new maps and modes will be available to all players upon release. Season pass holders will have one week early access to new operators before they can be unlocked by non-season pass owners using in-game currency or by paying $4.99 for 600 R6 credits.
Rainbow Six Siege recently received a major update that added a number of improvements to the game, including better hit-detection and a more efficient automated system for banning teamkillers, an issue has plagued the game since open beta. You can read more about all the changes here.
