CW Specials Will Look At The Future Of The DC Cinematic And Television Universes, Including A Preview Of 'Wonder Woman'

CW is set to explore what's next for the DC cinematic and television universes when the network airs two new specials next month on Jan. 19.

The first, titled Their Time is Now, will explore CW's upcoming show Legends of Tomorrow. The half-hour special will explore the origins of the show's cast of superheroes and villains, including Vandal Savage, the Atom, Firestorm, Captain Cold, Hawkgirl, Hawkman and more. Clips from Arrow, The Flash and Legends of Tomorrow, as well as interviews with the show's executive producers, will also be featured throughout the special.

That will pave the way for Dawn of the Justice League, another 30-minute special that will be a preview of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, as well as a look at what is ahead next for DC's cinematic universe. Celebrity geek Kevin Smith will be joined by DC Entertainment's Geoff Johns to showcase what fans can expect to see in the upcoming Batman v Superman, but also a special preview of the upcoming solo Wonder Woman film and the debut of a brand new Suicide Squad trailer. The special is said to include never-before-seen footage from Batman v Superman and new interviews with the films' stars, such as Ben Affleck, Henry Cavill, Gal Gadot and director Zack Snyder.

It's unclear if the Wonder Woman footage (or whatever is shown during the special) or Suicide Squad trailer will make its way online prior to when Dawn of the Justice League airs, so DC fans will probably want to plan on tuning in.

Both specials will air after that night's new episode of The Flash, with Their Time is Now slated to begin at 8 p.m. PST.

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice premieres March 25, 2016. Suicide Squad is currently slated for an August 5, 2016 release, with Wonder Woman set to premiere June 23, 2017.
