Apple became as busy bee in 2015, as the company shifted from releasing new gadgets and updates during autumn to launching something new almost every month.
After creating enough hype, the Cupertino-based company delivered some items, but it also surprised its fans with a couple of novelties that were unheard of until the launch date.
Without much ado, let us review 2015 from Tim Cook's perspective.
January
For the first time ever, the United States witnessed the release of SIM-free variants of iPhone 6 and 6 Plus. The Cupertino-based company also stormed into the year announcing a new MacBook, which caused some fuss because its manufacturer stated that the notebook would sport only a single USB-C port.
On the software side, iOS 8.1.3 and OS X 10.10.2 arrived to iPhones and Macs.
February
During the second month of the year, Apple hinted that the rumored Apple Car might be a real thing.
The pre-release variant of OS X 10.10.3 brought a new way of handling images via iCloud Photo Library.
March
It was March 2015 when Apple took the veil off the 12-inch MacBook, officially announced when Apple Watches will arrive in stores and offered the Apple TV 3 for $69.
Tim Cook's company revealed that the 13-inch MacBook Pro will get a Force Touch trackpad, and that it plans to buff the MacBook Air's configuration.
The iOS 8.2 update became available for iPhone users, and iOS 8.3 entered public testing during the Public Beta program.
April
Six months after first touting the Apple Watch, the company finally released the wearable in April. However, it took several weeks until all models reached their buyers, and that was not the only shocking thing about the smart watch from Apple. With a price range which varied between $349 and a whopping $17,000, the Apple Watch remained in the spotlight for some time.
The new MacBook hit the shelves and it came with stylish new finishes, presenting itself in gold, space gray and the traditional silver.
iOS 8.3 and OS X 10.10.3 went live, with a new Emoji character picker which put an emphasis on tolerance by allowing you to choose among skin tones.
May
Even if Apple Watch remained an online-only purchase in the fifth month of the year, Apple did release other items. For example, it launched the 15-inch MacBook Pro with improved specs, one of which is the Force Touch trackpad. The titanic, 27-inch 5K iMac received a revamping, too.
Users of iPhone 6 and 6 Plus welcomed the Lightning Dock that Apple redesigned to fit the larger devices. The previous variant of Lighting Dock worked for 5 and 5S smartphones only.
June
Hardware wise, June saw Apple Watches actually reaching the physical stores.
Apple also offered a preview of OS X 10.11, iOS 9 and watchOS 2, and introduced Apple Music for the first time. The Music offer came with a three months of free trial for Apple's music streaming service.
July
In the first month of Apple Music, the Cupertino-based company counted as much as 10 million subscribers.
The OEM updated its iPod touch with a mix of inside and outside upgrades. On the outside, new finishing colored the new iPods in pink, gold and blue, while the processing power got maxed out thanks to the new chip.
August
The software updates to OS X 10.10.5 and iOS 8.4.1 were the exciting parts of Apple's activity in August, alongside some rumors about Force Touch arriving in the autumn's handsets.
September
Unlike August, September brought a handful of new releases from Apple. A better, faster iPhone, a larger iPad ready to take sketching and creative professions to new heights, additional Apple Watch colors (for the Sport version). To top it all, the OEM released a new Apple TV, as well.
On the software front, the new iPhones shipped with iOS 9, and Apple also launched the watchOS 2. On Sept. 30, OS X 10.11 El Capitan went live.
October
October was another full month for Apple enthusiasts.
The world saw the first 21.5-inch 4K iMac while the 5K iMac with a 27-inch display got an improved screen. Apple also revamped its mouse & keyboard combo, each device receiving Lightning ports to recharge their improved internal power sources.
Music aficionados appreciated the release of The Beats Pill+, which came out with its own app and (of course) a Lightning port for recharging.
At the end of October, Apple TV shipped to buyers.
November
Fans of Apple products got their hands on the highly anticipated iPad Pro, but its full functionality was hindered by the insufficient stock of Apple Pencils and Smart Keyboards, two essential accessories to make most of the Apple slate.
Tim Cook's company surprised everyone when it revealed the first official Apple Watch dock.
December
Owners of iPhone 6s received an early Christmas present from the OEM: the iPhone 6s Smart Battery Case. The case, although it sports a design that won't be everyone's cup of tea, will solve one of the biggest weaknesses of iPhone 6s.
Apple's Lightning to SD Card Reader now runs at USB 3 speeds for the faster iPad Pro, while keeping its overall design.
Near the year's end, Apple sent out software updates to each platform: iOS, tvOS, watchOS and OS X.
Conclusion
Apple understood that delivering its products throughout the year is a better strategy than cramming all its gadgets into two full months. Looking at the many releases of 2015, it is apparent that Apple planned and succeeded in making it a fully accessorized year.
