Need More Liquor, Wine Or Beer For Your Holiday Party? Drizly App Offers One-Hour Booze Delivery

Short on booze, but too drunk to drive to the liquor store? Drizly is here to solve your problem.

The app, which is available for both Android and iOS users, can help you restock your bar at 3 a.m., when the weather outside is frightful and the last thing you want is to go outside.

According to the company, it only takes an hour for your order to arrive.

The company offers a wide assortment of beverages, so whether you want beer, wine, or liquor, Drizly's got your back. Browsing Drizly's online store, you may find anything from popular brands that are everywhere to fancy names that you've probably never heard of.

Browsing through two dozen types of beers will be a breeze because they are arranged after their country of origin. Therefore, you can easily choose from German, Belgian, Mexican, Irish and even Japanese beers. Others even honor the precise location where they were crafted, such as St. Louis, Colorado or Louisiana Craft.

The broad categories are present as well, so you can choose from options like lager, stout, wheat, cider, pale ale, amber ale, porter, seasonal, strong ale, alternative, pilsner, fruit, brown ale, saison, Hefeweizen, sour ale, gluten-free, bitter, lambic or Kölsch - all of which can land in your fridge in 60 minutes' time. There are even a number of beers and wines without alcohol, which is perfect for designated drivers.

Wine aficionados will have a field day while perusing the stores of Drizly, as the site offers a wide palette of such drinks.

To name just a few, you may choose from wines such as cabernet sauvignon, chardonnay, Shiraz, sauvignon blanc, Merlot, Pinot noir, Prosecco, chianti, sangiovese, Rioja, Burgundy, Bordeaux, Barolo, Gewurztraminer and mead. For lovers of the Japanese culture, Drizly also delivers bottles of sake.

For the classiest of party people, the delivery service has quite a few champagne bottles in store.

An array of stronger beverages waits for those searching for a punchy drink such as cognac, brandy, vodka, whiskey, rum, gin, scotch, tequila, vermouth, cocktails or absinthe.

The app also offers a large number of recipes for the most famous and beloved drinks out there.

For the absent-minded who realize at the last minute that they have no present for Uncle Joe, a fine whiskey delivered by Drizly can save the day. This means that you can select a bottle from Drizly and send it as a gift.

Say, you're having a longer-than-life meeting while your significant other waits for you at home: just send her a bottle of red wine via Drizly with an apology note and everything should be fine when you get back. However, be mindful that she must show an ID upon receiving the gift.

Drizly extends its services over 17 major cities. These are Austin, Baltimore, Boston, Boulder, Chicago, Dallas, Denver, Indianapolis, Los Angeles, Minneapolis, New Jersey, New Orleans, New York City, Providence, Seattle, St. Louis, Tampa, Washington D.C. and Worcester.

Delivery fees vary from location to location and can go from zero to $5 per order. Reviews show that Drizly is still a mixed bag, as it scores an average of 3.1/5 on Google Play.

"The app is slick, but has some issues. The Drizly service is amazing, and the app is modern and cool, but it's not without flaw... I noticed a few stateful issues when minimizing the app to check a text message, etc. Otherwise, though, it was a pleasant experience," user Trevor Suarez points out on Google Play.

"Delivery address not correct. It says my delivery address is not correct. I tried variations. No option to move forward. App not usable. My address was entered correctly," said Michael Bozeman.

As the app asks you to input your address before assessing whether or not you are in their coverage area, the following strategy is useful. Check out the app's coverage maps before you sign up, to make sure that Drizly can deliver to your home address.
