It seems that LG is convinced that a curved screen is cool.
It has been leaked out that LG could be working on a new phone which will rock a curved screen which "wraps over the top of the device."
Well-renowned Twitter leaker, Evan Blass (with the handle @evleaks), leaked the news with the highlight on the phone's purported curved display.
This rumor comes hot on the heels of a report suggesting that LG is not going to launch its new LG G Flex handset in the coming year.
To date, LG already boasts phones with curved screens, the LG G Flex and G Flex 2. It is anticipated, though, that the new rumored phone LG might be currently focusing on is going to be different from the two phones.
At the moment, details are still scarce. However, it is said that it will be analogous to Samsung's Galaxy Note Edge. The difference, though, is that the curved edge could be spotted on the top of the device rather than on the side.
It appears that the handset maker is aware that customers might be fascinated with phones touting quite out-of-the-box designs, such as curved displays, on top of new functionalities.
In the meantime, we reported earlier this month that LG could unwrap the LG G5 during the Mobile World Congress 2016 which is going to kick off in February. What's interesting is that it will come equipped with Snapdragon 820 processor, a 21-megapixel camera and an iris scanner.
Furthermore, it is purported that the phone could pack in a 5.6-inch screen boasting 1,440 x 2,560 resolution. This phone will either add in a 3,000 or 3,500 mAh battery pack which will support Fast Charge.
It is reported that the iris recognition technology is built by IRIENCE which is a biometrics firm in South Korea. It is likewise believed that the LG G5 could feature a fingerprint scanner, located at the back.
In April, the company released the LG G4, while in October, it unveiled the V10 which took the market by storm.
