We are moving full force ahead toward the holidays, and although we love watching all the classic Christmas movies and specials, sometimes, we just need to get off the cheer train for a minute. Luckily, Amazon Video has hooked us up in December with some brand new non-related Christmas movies to stream and buy, like Selma, Interstellar and Ant-Man, as well the return of the popular original series Transparent for all our binging needs.
Don't worry if you already devoured these titles in a few sittings. Not only is new content about to be released on the platform starting Jan. 1, but Amazon also announced that, leading up to the Dec. 18 release of Star Wars: The Force Awakens, the complete Star Wars saga is now currently available on Amazon Video ... and it gets even better. The Force Awakens will be available for digital preorder on the platform the same day as its theatrical release.
After you stream all the Star Wars movies, you can look forward to streaming the new season of Shameless, as well as the premieres of Showtime's Billions and Starz's Dark Sails in Jan. for an additional $8.99 per month as part of the new partnership.
Of course, when it comes to movies, there will still be lots to watch throughout the rest of your winter break or mini-vacation. What better way to nurse your New Year's hangover than by staying on the couch and streaming Dazed and Confused? Other movies worth noting coming to platform include the classic Breakfast at Tiffany's and the hilarious comedy Hot Tub Time Machine.
