Just in time for the holidays, Google is going to update Inbox by Gmail with a couple of neat features for Trip Bundles and mobile attachments, making sharing photos and travel plans with friends and family a lot easier than before.
First off, Trip Bundles automatically compiles all emails related to an upcoming trip, including hotel or restaurant reservation, booking confirmation, car rental, flight schedule and many others. It also prioritizes the most important information, putting it at the top of the list.
"[I]f you want to take a look at your upcoming trips or take a trip down memory lane, just tap on Trips in the app menu," Google says.
With the upcoming update, the feature will get a handy share option, allowing users to share summaries of travel details at a tap of a button.
Google will also throw in a user-requested "Move to..." feature that lets users add emails to a trip. On top of that, trips will now be viewable offline, which the developer says is "perfect for when you're on a plane or using spotty Wi-Fi."
Meanwhile, mobile attachments will become simpler to use when the update rolls out. While the standard method of browsing in a separate window to choose attachments is okay and all, Google plans to take things up a notch, integrating a convenient image browser within the email window and adding support for simultaneous multiple attachments.
"While you're traveling, you might end up taking a lot of photos. Improved mobile attachments give you quick access to your recent photos, and let you attach multiple photos at once," Google says.
The update for Inbox by Gmail and improvements for Trip Bundles and mobile attachments are scheduled for release sometime next week.
