Lumia 850 'Honjo' Design Revealed In Latest Leaked Render, Expected Soon As Windows 10 Mobile Mid-Ranger

With the high-end Lumia 950 and Lumia 850 XL now out and about, it's time to focus on Microsoft's other upcoming handsets, such as the Lumia 850.

Codenamed "Honjo," the Microsoft Lumia 850 is expected to launch as a replacement for the Lumia 830. Amid intensifying rumors, a new Lumia 850 "Honjo" render just surfaced online, giving a good look at the handset's design.

Unlike previously leaked images, the latest render posted by prolific leaker @evleaks now shows the smartphone in all its glory, front and back.

The handset is expected to launch as an upper-midrange offering and could be the next device to arrive with Windows 10 Mobile on board out of the box.

Based on the design shown in the latest render, the Lumia 850 seems to stray from the Lumia 830 form factor that it will allegedly replace. Instead of the sharp corners of the Lumia 830, the upcoming Lumia 850 will apparently sport rounded corners that are more reminiscent of the new Lumia 950 model.

Moreover, the Lumia 850 doesn't seem to have any hardware buttons on the front, which suggests that navigation will be exclusively on-screen, like with Microsoft's top-end Lumias.

Evleaks' render shows the Lumia 850 in white, but a gold Microsoft logo on the back and some gold accents on the frame and buttons make for a subtle color scheme.

The tipster offered no information regarding the purported smartphone's specs, which means that it remains unclear just what the Lumia 850 will have to offer on the hardware front.

Rumors a few months back suggested that the handset would feature a 5-inch HD display, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 processor, just 1 GB of RAM, and a 10-megapixel main camera with PureView technology. Newer leaks, however, painted a more exciting picture that sounds more plausible. More specifically, the latest rumors claim the Lumia 850 will feature a 5.7-inch full HD screen and a Qualcomm Snapdragon 617 processor, which would be better suited for upper-midrange segment of the smartphone market.

With nothing official so far, however, it all remains in the rumor state at this point. Evleaks may have a great reputation when it comes to the accuracy of his leaks, but it's still best to take everything with a grain of salt until a formal announcement.
