After a so-so trailer a few months back, NBC just debuted a much improved "Constantine" preview online that was originally revealed at San Diego Comic Con this past weekend. The trailer really shows the massive scope of the long-gestating show, and it should please longtime fans.
This time around the show looks like it is really going for the original "Hellblazer" fan base that is looking for loyalty in the new program. It is difficult for a long-running comic book that is not a household name to establish itself on the TV scene, but "Constantine" looks like it packs a punch. The show does a great job of casting with Brit actor Matt Ryan in the lead, and he looks fully-committed to the darkness of their world.
The show debuts on October 24 at 10 p.m. It also stars Lucy Griffiths, Harold Perrineau and Charles Halford. At the helm are executive producers Daniel Cerone and David S. Goyer. At almost three minutes, this trailer gives a comprehensive look at a world unlike we have seen and whets the appetite of both the casual fan and the die hard comic book reader. This was definitely one of the highlights of the Con, and now it is up to the viewers to make or break the show.
