We just can't get enough of Disney Interactive games. With titles like Star Wars: Commanders and Disney Infinity 3.0 getting us ready for the debut of The Force Awakens, the latter has also been one of our favorite games to be able to play as Marvel superheroes.
Now, mobile gamers who are fans of Marvel: Avengers Alliance, which launched over three years ago, will be pleased to hear that the gang is assembling together once again for a brand new adventure in an upcoming sequel.
Disney Interactive and Marvel announced on Friday the upcoming beta launch of Marvel: Avengers Alliance 2, the turn-based team role-playing game that will have the team of heroes battling it out against Ultron, Baron Strucker and other baddies.
The game features an original storyline that has cities vanishing in thin air as the planet starts to disappear. Of course, this means it's the perfect time for villain to wreak havoc. Players do get one clue to this mysterious state the Earth is in: all the cities that are wiped away are sites of previous galactic collisions known as Incursions. That means deposits of Iso-8, the material that was brought to Earth from space and affects technology, has also been left behind.
Players assemble a team of heroes that feature characters from the Avengers, Guardians of the Galaxy, Daredevil and Spider-Man that can level-up and be equipped with unique abilities to take on the super villains and stop the destruction caused by the Iso-8. In this turn-based game, the player must strategize to defeat these evil forces in three-on-three combat, and since this is a social game, players can team up with their friends in order to beat the missions.
Although the exact launch date has yet to be revealed, players can pre-register on the game's website. Those who pre-register for the game will get a redemption code for an exclusive Power Cell, which provides the player one of the following randomly-selected Guardians of the Galaxy heroes for use in the game, including: Star-Lord, Gamora, Rocket Raccoon, Drax or Groot. The code will be delivered once the game officially launches.
The limited beta testing for Marvel: Avengers Alliance 2 will launch "soon" in select countries.
