Tarzan, as played by Alexander Skarsgård for the July 2016 theatrical release, was finally introduced on Dec. 8, and just a few hours afterwards, the first official trailer made an appearance as well. Judging from the mind-blowing trailer alone, "The Legend of Tarzan" directed by David Yates will probably be a blockbuster hit.
"The jungle consumes everything," the opening voiceover of the first official trailer says while the camera sweeps over the jungle with flashes of danger in between. Just like that, the trailer will consume the viewer too as you follow Tarzan jumping off cliffs and gigantic trees and gracefully swinging from vine to vine. Of course, it wouldn't be Tarzan without his primate family fighting by his side.

Yates' take on the classic tale is ominous and intriguing but with the right amount of comedy. Instead of the more common way of perceiving Tarzan as the animalistic man who was raised by simians in the African jungle, Yates begins in the urban jungle of Victorian England and takes the already civilized John Clayton III. "You are Lord of the Apes. King of the Jungle. Tarzan," Samuel L. Jackson tells a defiant John Clayton III who insists on his civility by drinking tea like a proper Englishman, complete with the raised pinkie.
He is then persuaded to go on a mission back to Congo where things drastically change. Already, Christoph Waltz's Captain Rom has Jane, played by Margot Robbie, tied up and walking with him and his men on an expedition into the jungle and Tarzan's iconic call rings through the air.
"He's Tarzan, you're Jane... He'll come for you," Captain Rom tells Jane and, of course, he's right.
Tarzan does not say anything in the trailer but he doesn't really have to since just that one call echoing through the jungle is enough to send chills down your spine.
