Renders of what are reportedly the Samsung Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Plus have leaked. Images and exact dimensions of the next-generation smartphone and phablet come from a third-party accessory maker.
With the success of the Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge, it makes sense that Samsung isn't going to change up the design of its next-generation Galaxy S7 from that of its predecessors. Instead, the company will reportedly use the same design and turn its attention to the internals and improve the overall experience, using a similar approach to that of Apple with its "s" moniker iPhones. The move will also allow Samsung to keep production costs down, which could back up claims that the Galaxy S7 will be cheaper than the Galaxy S6 at launch.
Samsung is expected to launch the Galaxy S7 at a press event scheduled for Feb. 21, 2016. There have been numerous reports claiming that the company is planning on releasing both a standard Galaxy S7 along with an S7 Edge, and now, a new report claims that Samsung will introduce a larger Galaxy S7 Plus with a six-inch display.
A third-party accessory maker has posted renders and dimensions of the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Plus. The renders of the Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 Plus appear to confirm that the handsets will look nearly identical to the Galaxy S6. The Galaxy S7's dimensions practically mirror the Galaxy S6 and come in at 143.37 by 70.8 by 6.94 mm. Meanwhile, the Galaxy S7 Plus comes in at a much bigger size, measuring 163.32 by 82.01 by 7.82 mm, making it considerably larger than the current 5.7-inch Galaxy S6 Edge+, which measures 154.4 by 75.8 by 6.9 mm. This is leading many to believe that the Galaxy S7 Plus will launch with a six-inch display.
