Spotify Now Lets You Make And Share Your 'Year In Music' For 2015

Spotify offers a well-suited feature to summarize your musical year in the form of the "Year in Music" interactive and customized experience.

For those comfortable sharing their musical tastes across social media, they can do so via snapshot-style cards.

Users who want to tap into the feature can simply select "Get Your Year in Music" and sign in to their Spotify account to get their own musical summary for 2015.

Spotify will then show what song was played first in 2015, and it is up to you to decide whether or not it was a good omen. The default setting will keep the track on autoplay, alongside others that followed it. You may put it on pause by using the play/pause button, which is on the left side of the screen.

The next step will show the top five artists that titillated your ears during the past 12 months. After that, Spotify lets you know the five albums from 2015 that you listened to the most.

Further on, the Year In Music feature assembles the top five tracks from your playlist. Next in line are the top five musical styles that you enjoyed.

Spotify will also show a detailed synopsis of your time spent listening to music (recorded in minutes, hours or days). Spotify also informs you how many unique musicians passed through your playlist.

Every stat that the Swedish media streaming service shows can be shared on social media via the button located at the bottom right part of the screen.

Avid music lovers might find that they listened to more than 1,000 different tracks. For those who are really curious about their seasonal changes in musical options, Spotify details who your favorite artists were by quarter. For example, you might find that during the summer your tastes revolved around R&B and Dance Pop, whereas between January and March you only listened to mellow, acoustic tunes.

Spotify acknowledges that 2015 was a unique experience for every user, but throws some universal factoids from the music industry in the mix.

"From the Internet falling back in love with Missy Elliott at the Super Bowl, to same-sex marriage being legalized in the United States and Ireland ... 2015 was a year to remember," Spotify notes.
