Microsoft has disclosed the details of the Baba Yaga: The Temple of the Witch DLC for Rise of the Tomb Raider coming early 2016 through the Season Pass or as standalone content along with a new Endurance Mode on Dec. 29.
The first one that willl arrive is the Endurance Mode. Starting with no items, players will strive to survive as long as possible, catching, collecting or crafting everything. They'll be able to compete with their friends for the longest survival run, climbing a leaderboards system to claim the title "Ultimate Survivor." The game mode will come with a new set of clothes and a new weapon.
The second one that will go official is the Baba Yaga DLC, which made its debut at the Game Awards 2015. The trailer features a seemingly haunted forest and a phantom creature, all glazed with a hallucinatory and nightmarish ambience. The DLC will come with a new outfit and bow.
On top of those two, another DLC called Cold Darkness Awakened will also launch sometime next year. Microsoft hasn't released any teaser for this one yet except for a description of what to expect.
"[A] dormant weapons research base has been breached, unleashing a mysterious affliction into the Siberian wilds that transforms beasts and men into blood-thirsty, mindless killers," Microsoft says.
The Season Pass also comes with a ton of other add-ons, including the Silver, Gold, Advantage, Challenge and Wild Expedition Card Packs. Meanwhile, new weapons and outfits include the Siberian Ranger Pack, the Prophet's Legacy Pack, the Ancient Vanguard Pack and the Wilderness Survivor Pack. The Siberian Ranger Pack is already available, and the rest will arrive next year.
Just lately, the Rise of the Tomb Raider was believed to have come short of the expected sales figure, but the developers were reportedly "very happy" of the outcome, saying that the game is a huge success.
With all the upcoming DLC packs and features, Rise of the Tomb Raider will definitely improve its standing in the market, providing plenty of hours of gameplay and an overall better experience.
