AnTuTu benchmark tests for various chipsets show that Apple's A9 chip trumps everyone else.
Romanian publication Mobilissimo.ro discovered a chart on Weibo, which shows the scores received by various processors during the AnTuTu benchmark testing.
Based on the chart, the A9 processor is at the top with a score of 123,567. Apple claims that the A9 chip, used in the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus, is the most advanced chip ever in a smartphone. The AnTuTu test chart confirms this claim.
"You'll experience up to 70 percent faster CPU performance, and up to 90 percent faster GPU performance for all your favorite graphics-intensive games and apps," says Apple about the new A9 chip.
The chart also shows that Apple's A8X processor, which is used in the iPad Air 2, ranks second with a score of 98,901.
"Compared with the A7 chip in the previous iPad Air, the A8X chip delivers 40 percent faster CPU performance. From launching apps to playing games, everything is more fluid and responsive," states Apple. "The A8X chip has an astonishing 2.5 times the graphics performance of the A7 chip."
Huawei's Kirin 950 achieved a score of 92,746 on AnTuTu. The chip powers the Huawei Mate 8.
With a score of 86,652 points, Samsung's Exynos 7420 chip occupies the fourth place. The processor powers the Samsung Galaxy S6, Galaxy S6 Edge, Galaxy S6 Edge+ and the Samsung Galaxy Note 5.
The Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor, which is found in many popular top-end smartphones, such as the Microsoft Lumia 950 XL, Google Nexus 6P, Motorola Droid Turbo 2 and OnePlus 2, has received a score of 81,049.
Apple has already introduced the faster A9X processor in the iPad Pro, which delivers up to 1.8 times the CPU performance and double the graphics performance when compared to the iPad Air 2. The A9X chip does not appear in the chart, where it may achieve even higher scores.
A mobile device's processor is one of the most important hardware of the handset. Various mobile device makers use processors designed by semiconductor companies. However, Apple designs its own processors, which are produced by companies such as Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC) and Samsung.
