Any time there's a controversial case of police violence, the first thing the general public wants to see is video footage from the incident.
Well, Liquid Image might have come up with an apt solution. The company's Ego LS 800 wearable camera can stream its footage over Verizon's 4G network, or via a local WiFi network, to social-media networks in real-time.
According to Slash Gear, this camera is being geared toward police officers, but think about the experience it can provide for Periscope or even YouTube since the captured footage can also be saved and uploaded later. The Ego LS 800 can be purchased on Liquid Image's website for $399.99.
The Ego LS 800 achieves its real-time streaming with a combination of its LTE, Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi and low-frequency RF functions. The camera boasts an eight-megapixel sensor with wide-angle lens and can be shot in 1080p or 720p.
With an accompanying Liquid Image Live app for iOS or Android, users will be able to pinpoint the path of the stream in addition to review photos and videos. Also included in the package are a LTE sled and pre-installed SIM card in addition to different sizes and fits for mounting, including a flat mount, small and large mounting arm and swing arm.
This camera can go a long way to helping to eliminate multiple stories surfacing when a police-related incident occurs because the cop wearing the cam and people live-streaming and watching would be getting the one true story of the situation.
