Martial Arts Adventure 'Jade Empire' Now For Free At EA's Origin

Origin is offering Jade Empire - a martial arts action role-playing game (RPG) - for free. Origin is Electronic Arts' (EA) digital game distribution service.

Jade Empire, which has been developed by BioWare and published by Microsoft Game Studios, originally launched on Microsoft Xbox in 2005. The game was later released for PC and Xbox 360.

Gamers can download the PC version of the game from Origin's website for free. However, only customers who have an Origin account, which can be set up for free, can download the game.

Origin has attached "On The House" tag to Jade Empire: Special Edition but this is not the first time that Origin is offering Jade Empire for free. In November, the game was available for free only for limited time but Origin removed it swiftly.

Many gamers have liked Jade Empire but the game is very short - just about 15 to 20 hours - which is its biggest drawback. However, Jade Empire can still attract many buyers, especially if they do not have to pay anything.

"I like Jade Empire a whole lot, I won't lie. It only took me about 15 hours to beat, and the graphics and music were quite excellent! About halfway, once you start consulting your little group as a whole, the characters really shine. And let's face it, you play RPG's because you want a good story. Jade Empire delivers!" per an Amazon user.

Jade Empire is not the only game, which has received Origin's On The House tag. Other games such as Dead Space and Dragon Age: Origins also received the tag and was available for free as part of Origin's promotion.

The original price tag of the game on Amazon is $39.99. However, the online retailer is currently offering the game for $18.95, a discount of 53 percent.
