For months, Mortal Kombat creator Ed Boon has been teasing fans about future DLC plans for the latest entry in the gory fighting series, Mortal Kombat X. From new fighters, costumes, modes and even more story DLC, it seems like truly anything is on the table.
It looks like we may finally learn the truth about what new content is coming to Mortal Kombat X on Thursday, Dec. 3 during The Game Awards. The Game Awards producer Geoff Keighley has tweeted a teaser video that promises an "exclusive announcement" for the game during the show.
As for the teaser video, it's nothing much. No real hints are given about what the announcement could be, as it's all old footage of characters from the game beating each other to a bloody pulp. There are currently 29 playable characters in Mortal Kombat X, including the four DLC characters that came with the game's Kombat Pass: Jason Vorhees, Predator, Tanya and Tremor. Tremor was the latest character to be released, added to the game on July 21.
From Keighley and Boon's use of the game's tagline "Who's Next?" it seems safe to assume the announcement of new characters is a given. The only question now is: who? Spawn has long been rumored for the game, but we may also see the inclusion of old favorites like Cyrax or Noob Saibot as well. We'll all just have to tune in to The Game Awards to find out. The awards show will be streamed live on YouTube Gaming.
