Amazon's page shows that the Samsung Galaxy S6 now costs 33 percent less. The South Korean flagship sells for $399.99, down from its usual price tag of $599.99.
While this hard-to-say-no-to price refers to the United States variant of the smartphone, the company also sells the international version for a reduced price of $496.95.
Why is this offer so breathtaking?
The Galaxy S6 has a 5.1-inch screen that shows a 2,560 x 1,440 resolution on its Quad HD display. The resolution means that you get a density of 577 pixels per inch (ppi), ranking first in the market.
The smooth-running processes use an octa-core Samsung Exynos 7420 processor that is backed by 3 GB of RAM. The default 32 GB of storage is non-expandable, as the South Korean OEM did not add any microSD slots to the handset.
A two-camera combo makes Galaxy S6 one of the best image-taking devices of its kind. The main one is a 16 MP camera featuring optical image stabilization, while the front-placed camera has 5 MP, optimal for selfies and video calling.
The Galaxy S6 gets 1080p HD video capability by default, but you have the chance to choose a 60fps frame rate, meaning a resolution of 2,560 x 1,440 pixels, or if you're really picky, an ultra-HD resolution of 3,840 x 2,160 is there for you. Downgrading the resolution to under 1080p is also an option.
Security conscious users should know that the Samsung Galaxy S6 has a well-implemented fingerprint scanner.
For those who hate filling their houses with wires, Samsung gifted the handset with Wireless Charging support. The S6 sports a 2,550mAh battery, a bit tinier than that on the S6 Edge, which has a 2,600mAh unit. Both Galaxy S6 variants feature a smaller battery than last year's model, which had a 2,800mAh power source.
The Galaxy S6 works on Android Lollipop 5.0.2, but the device is rumored to receive the Android 6.0 Marshamallow update early in 2016.
Last but not least, Samsung went from releasing budget-looking high performance phones to a premium-looking fantastic hardware with the Galaxy S6. The device looks as good as it works, and it is a tough competitor for rival flagships.
