Deal Alert: Unlocked Samsung Galaxy Note 5 Now $300 Off On eBay

The Samsung Galaxy Note 5 is one of the hottest Android phablets currently on the market and it's now available at a hefty discount, selling unlocked for $300 off on eBay.

Samsung's latest flagship phablet from the popular Galaxy Note line comes with top-notch specs and features all around, but also with a price to match. High-end hardware doesn't come cheap, and the Galaxy Note 5 normally costs $849 unlocked.

This time of the year, however, customers can get impressive hardware at notably lower price points, and it's no different with the Galaxy Note 5. A new eBay offer now sells the unlocked phablet for just $549, which marks a whopping discount of $300 off the regular price of the device, as the listing itself poits out.

Unlocked editions are usually more expensive than various contract offers from carriers, as they allow customers to get the device without locking themselves into lengthy contracts.

The eBay seller offering the Galaxy Note 5 at $549 has an overwhelmingly positive rating of 99.1 percent, which means the deal should be solid. The device is brand new, unopened and unused, just in case you thought the deal was for a refurbished item.

The white color option of the phablet is listed as out of stock, but the Galaxy Note 5 is still available in black, gold or silver avatars. The item is shipping from Brooklyn, New York, U.S., but the seller is also throwing in an EU charger with the handset.

It's worth pointing out, however, that the Samsung Galaxy Note 5 now on offer on eBay is the GSM model, which means that it will work with GSM carriers such as AT&T and T-Mobile. It will not work with CDMA carriers such as Verizon and Sprint.

The carrier versions of the Galaxy Note 5 off-contract, meanwhile, vary in price depending on operator. AT&T is selling the 32 GB model for $739 off-contract, Verizon is charging $696, T-Mobile offers it for $599, Sprint asks $739 for the device, while US Cellular is offering the phablet for $669.

These are all lower than the original manufacturer retail price, but the eBay offer is still more attractive with the 32 GB Galaxy Note 5 unlocked at $549.

As a reminder, the Samsung Galaxy Note 5 sports a massive 5.7-inch display with a high resolution of 2,560 x 1,440 pixels at a pixel density of 518 ppi and packs an in-house Exynos 7420 chipset under the hood, paired with a hefty 4 GB of RAM.

Other highlights include a 16-megapixel rear camera with optical image stabilization (OIS), a front-facing 5-megapixel shooter, and a 3,000 mAh battery. The phablet has a premium design made of glass and metal, comes with the popular S Pen stylus and has a fingerprint scanner for extra security and convenience.
