Amazon Offers Unlimited Cloud Storage For $5 Per Year: How This Compares To OneDrive, Dropbox, Google Drive And More

Amazon is offering an attractive deal to those who take advantage of cloud storage. Currently, the online retail giant is offering unlimited cloud storage for as little as $5 for one year.

The regular price for Amazon's unlimited online storage to the Cloud Drive is $59.99 for a year. With the latest offer customers are getting a discount of 92 percent.

"When you upload a file or photo to Cloud Drive, you're saving a backup copy in Amazon's secure servers. There's no limit to how many files you can upload," per Amazon.

The latest deal is extremely attractive when compared to rivals such as OneDrive, Dropbox and more.

With cloud storage, customers have the option to free up the storage from their personal devices such as laptops, tablets, smartphones and more, and store them online. Customers have the flexibility to access their files stored in the cloud from wherever they want.

Many cloud storage providers offer some limited space for free. However, Amazon is one of the only cloud storage providers that is giving unlimited storage for just $5 a year.

Apple iCloud subscribers have to pay $0.99 per month in the U.S. for 50GB of cloud space. 1TB is the maximum cloud storage space that Apple offers at a price of $9.99 per month.

Google Drive offers 15GB of space for free to all customers. Customers who want 100GB of cloud storage have to pay $1.99 per month and 1TB of space costs $9.99. The maximum space that Google Drive offers is 30TB at a price of $299.99 per month.

Box "Personal Plans" customers can get 10GB of cloud storage for free. Customers on the company's Personal Pro subscription plan have to pay $11.50 per month to get 100GB of cloud storage. Box "Business Plans" customers have the option to purchase unlimited cloud storage for $17 per month and per user.

With Dropbox Pro, customers have the option to buy 1TB of cloud storage by paying monthly subscription of $.9.99. Customers can also buy the cloud storage space if they pay $99 upfront as yearly subscription fee.

Microsoft OneDrive offered unlimited cloud storage to Office 365 consumer subscribers. However, in early November, the company announced that it will no more offer unlimited cloud space.

OneDrive customers currently get 15GB of free storage space and 100GB for $1.99 per month. OneDrive will decrease the free storage space to 5GB and customers will have to pay $1.99 for 50GB cloud storage from early 2016.

Amazon's latest Cloud Drive offer definitely has an edge over other cloud storage providers. However, customers should note that the annual subscription fee for Amazon Cloud Drive may come back to $59.99 after the completion of one year.
