Black Friday deals have been popping up in almost every retail website. We've seen Google slash the price of the Nexus 9 to $200, but while that's one awesome deal, nothing is better than free.
If you own a Chromecast, there's a free 90-day subscription to Spotify Premium waiting for you to grab right away. This might not be a full year of ad-free Spotify, but 90 days is still good enough, especially for those who have yet to try the popular music platform.
Folks from all 60 countries supported by Spotify should be able to redeem the 90-day free service despite only the United States, Puerto Rico and Malaysia being mentioned by Google on its support page. We understand the offer is also available to folks with the first-generation Chromecast, so no one should be left out of this deal.
For those who want to get onboard this 90-day free Spotify Premium trial, getting a Chromecast is a big step forward. Google is selling the device right now for $50. Getting two of these devices would grant the consumer two trial offers, so bear that in mind.
Also, Spotify has its own 90-day Premium deal that is independent of Google and its Chromecast media stick. This offer, which ends on Jan. 2, 2016, will cost consumers a mere $0.99, but it's only for those who haven't tried Premium before.
Aside from ad-free listening, the Premium subscription on Spotify offers users high-quality streaming at 320kbps, offline listening and unlimited song skips.
For those who are planning to take advantage of the free 90-day Spotify Premium trial, bear in mind that payment details will be requested. As soon as the trial ends, Spotify will automatically start billing users at the regular $9.99 Premium monthly fee.
Users who want to stay bill-free, or those who don't really want to go Premium the rest of the way, would have to cancel the service when the free comes to an end. Spotify should deliver a notification email to alert users of the impending end to the trial, giving users enough time to cancel should they wish to do so. Those who still want to use Spotify to listen to music on demand can go for the ad-supported Spotify Free.
The free 90-day Spotify Premium offer can be redeemed from the Google Chromecast website. To gain full access, Google Chrome is required.
