Creator Kurt Sutter has brought interesting people together for his biker gang drama "Sons of Anarchy" in previous seasons, and that trend looks to be continuing for the final season of the show. Sutter has revealed that the seventh season of "Sons of Anarchy" will feature both Marilyn Manson and Courtney Love in reoccurring roles.
Courtney Love will start in episode four, playing the pre-school teacher of protagonist Jackson Teller's (Charlie Hunnam) son Abel. It has been revealed that this teacher Ms. Harrison will get fixated with Abel, which will alarm Abel's biological mother Wendy (Drea de Matteo).
Marilyn Manson tweeted out a photo of himself on set opposite Hunnam, where it is seen that he is playing Ron Tully, a white supremacist with some pull in the prison that Jax Teller is incarcerated in at the beginning of the season.
"I tend to do this every season, I like to do some casting that's a little bit outside the box, you know, from Stephen King to David Hasselhoff -- we try to do stuff that's fun," Sutter said at the "Sons of Anarchy" panel at the Television Critics Association Summer Tour.
They won't be the only new faces joining the show this season. Annabeth Gish, from the series "The Bridge," will play the new sheriff Althea Jarry. Malcolm-Jamal Warner of "The Cosby Show" fame also has a role as Sticky, a member of the Grim Bastards bike gang.
One notable guest star will return, Walter Goggins, of "The Shield" and "Justified" fame, as transgender woman Venus Van Dam. Past reoccurring guest stars on "Sons of Anarchy" include Danny Trejo, Titus Welliver, Adam Arkin, Donal Logue, Harold Perrineau, Tom Arnold, Dave Navarro, Robert Patrick, Doug Jones and Mitch Pileggi.
Courtney Love has a history of acting, from "The People vs. Larry Flynt" to "Man on the Moon," but is most known for being the widow of Nirvana's Kurt Cobain and a the singer for the band Hole.
Marilyn Manson has also done some acting in the past, including the movies "Party Monster" and "Rise." His claim to fame though is being the singer for his band, also named Marilyn Manson.
Many of these guest roles come and go as the death toll for the series is quite high, including regular characters being killed each season. The teaser for the new season implies that these deadly tendencies will continue in the last season, as we see Jax riding his bike and a skull being superimposed over his own face.
The seventh and final season of "Sons of Anarchy" starts September 9 on the FX network.
