Verizon Is Giving Away 2 GB Free Data To Customers As A Thanksgiving Gift: Here's How To Claim It

As a Thanksgiving gift to customers, Verizon is offering 2 GB of data absolutely free along with other goodies. The promotion is not automatic, however, and customers have to actively claim it on their Verizon Wireless accounts via an online process.

Verizon is calling the promotion Thanksgetting, and customers with all but unlimited data plans will be sure to appreciate an extra 2 GB of data on their phone plans at no cost. The offer provides every customer who signs up for the promotion 1 GB of additional free data on their current billing cycle and an extra 1 GB of free data on their next billing cycle as well. The gift must be claimed before Tuesday, Nov. 24 at 11:59 p.m ET.

Many customers have received emails with a link to sign into their account to receive the promotion. Once users are prompted to sign into their account, however, they may not see the link to receive the promotion on their Verizon Wireless home page. To find it, just enter the word "Thanksgetting" into the search field and hit enter. That will bring up the appropriate page upon which customers can simply click to receive their prize.

In addition to the free data, the company is also offering customers and even non-Verizon customers other free deals on Nov. 25, after the free data promotion expires. Those include a free $5 iTunes gift card to the first 74,000 who claim it, along with a slew of free TV, song and movie downloads courtesy of Amazon.

Customers can also receive a free one-month trial of Pandora One, the music streaming service's premium tier, free airport Wi-Fi from Boingo, free in-flight Wi-Fi from Gogo, and a $20 credit toward any Lyft ride.

Absent-minded customers who want to claim these additional deals but may forget to claim them by the time Wednesday rolls around can sign up for an email reminder from Verizon on the promo splash page.
