iPad Pro Unresponsive After Charging? Apple Investigates And Suggests This Quick Fix For Now

It's barely been a few weeks since the 12.9-inch iPad Pro hit the shelves and consumers are already facing issues with the Apple tablet.

As we previously reported, several users were being plagued by a non-responsive iPad Pro after they charged the tablet. Users complained of the device's screen going black suddenly, for no apparent reason. This issue would be encountered usually after charging the iPad Pro.

Irate users took to several forums to share their angst as they sought out answers and solutions to the niggling problem.

Users complained that the iPad Pro would become frozen, as well as unresponsive to interactions and touch after it was charged. The screen would remain blank until one performed a reset.

"When I connect my iPad Pro to the charger for more than an hour, it goes dead. It takes multiple hard resets to bring it back to life," complained a user on the Apple support forum.

"At night it was down to 40% so I charged it and went to bed. When I woke up it was "dead". It wouldn't wake up. I needed to perform a hard reset to get it to come to life. Worked on it for a couple of hours and had to run an errand," ranted another user. "Plugged it back in as I was going to need a full charge later that day. Came back to it, same thing. Dead. I needed to perform a hard reset to get it to turn on."

It seems that the 32GB and the 128GB variants of the iPad Pro which run iOS 9.1 are being plagued by the problem. A strong possibility exists that this could be a software issue as even iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus users encountered the problem of their handsets powering off suddenly, as well as becoming unresponsive.

Apple has acknowledged the current issue and its support document offers a solution. If your iPad Pro is unresponsive and tapping on the screen or pressing the buttons is futile (as well the screen goes black), you can tackle the problem with a quick fix.

Here's the quick interim fix Apple gives to help you counter the issue - a Force restart.

Step 1: To force a restart press and hold the Sleep/Wake and the Home button together for a minimum 10 seconds.

Step 2: You will see the Apple logo. Your device is back on.

Apple has divulged that it is looking into the issue, suggesting that the company may roll out a fix in the near term.
