Uber rides aren't always hailed for pleasure. Sometimes they're strictly for business.
To make it easier to separate personal trips from business commutes, Uber announced the launch of Business Profiles on Wednesday. The feature plans to make it easier to separate personal trips from business rides, so that users can file their expenses that much easier.
In making the announcement, Uber hinted that it's introducing the feature as direct result from its customers' feedback.
"Our business riders have spoken and we've listened," the company posted on its website. "With Business Profiles you can remove the stress around expensing by simply selecting whether a ride is for personal or business."
It added: "At Uber, we believe whether you're on your way to the movies or traveling to a client meeting you deserve an experience tailored for why you ride. Switch to your Business Profile — Let Uber take care of the rest."
As part of the rollout, Business Profiles allows users to charge the correct credit card, so that company trips are never on your own dime. In addition, there's an input within the feature to add expense memos and project codes to label your business rides and remember why each one was taken, so that they're easier to bill your company for while filing expenses.
Along those lines, Uber's Business Profiles make your work receipt your work email, while automatically summarizing weekly or monthly travel reports.
Uber adds that using a Business Profile isn't all work and no play, allowing users to also create their own fun badges for personal trips.
