iPod Shuffle-rival Nokia Guru leaks ahead of official launch

Nokia seems all prepared for its event on October 22 and an image of Nokia Guru, which is expected to rival Apple's iPod, has leaked just ahead of the official launch.

Apple released its first line of portable media player, iPod, in October 2001 and since then the gadget has become one of the most popular portable media players around. Currently, there are four versions of the iPod: iPod Shuffle, iPod Nano, iPod Touch and iPod Classic. Apart from the iPod Shuffle all other versions also support video playback.

Nokia has not yet announced the Guru; however, famous leakster @evleaks has tweeted a few images of the upcoming Nokia media player. @evleaks has leaked the images of the Nokia Guru in blue and yellow colors. The Nokia Lumia smartphones are well-known for the array of color options in which they are available. Moreover, the iPod Shuffle is also available in eight colors. It should not come as a surprise if the company launches a few more color options to the upcoming Nokia Guru.

"iPod shuffle + NFC = Nokia Guru," per @evleaks' tweet.

From the leaked image it seems that the alleged Nokia Guru will launch without a display and will give competition to the iPod Shuffle. The key difference between the two devices will be Near-Field Communication (NFC). If rumors are to be believed then Nokia Guru users will be able to upload music on it via NFC, without the hassles of wires.

The iPod Shuffle is available only with a 2GB on-board storage option. The Apple portable media player has a retail price of $49 in the U.S. The simple-to-use iPod Shuffle has a built-in rechargeable lithium-ion battery, which can give up to 15 hours of audio playback when it is fully charged.

Nokia will try its best to put the features of the rumored Guru at least at par with the Apple Shuffle. However, we will have to wait until the Finnish company officially takes the wraps off the Guru.
