Google App For iPhone Gets A Makeover With Updated Voice Search And Google Now Interface

Thinking about downloading the Google app for your iPhone or iPad? Then go right ahead because the latest update brings to the table an app that looks much better.

Not only does the app look a lot better than before, but users can say the words, "OK Google" to activate voice commands. Try it now, go on, ask Google when is "Batman vs. Superman' or 'Star Wars: The Force Awakens' is coming out, Google Now will tell you.

The new update brings new search results that are rich and easy to navigate. If you're a person who's into Football or the NBA, new search results based on a related query will bring up results, news, standings and up-to-the-minute scores.

We also enjoy the updated Google Now cards. Now it is possible to see all your cards that are attached to your Google account, awesome right? The whole thing is mixed with Material Design and iOS general design philosophy, and it gives off a nice little touch on the eyes.

"Timely info — like upcoming flights, appointments, and traffic updates — will show up first, while less urgent cards — like suggestions for videos and articles - will be lower down your feed," according to Google+ update.

New features aren't the only thing users should be expecting. Overall, the app is faster than before, although it is not a huge revision when compared to what Microsoft did with its Bing app earlier.

Also, the new update won't fundamentally change how folks use the app. It is not revolutionary in any shape or form, so do not expect a steep learning curve for most things are still the same here. The biggest change is the new user interface design, and since it is arguably easier to use, iPhone and iPad users should still feel right at home.

The new Google app can be downloaded from the Apple App Store via iTunes.
