This selfie toaster will burn your image right onto your breakfast

Now you don’t even have to make it to a mirror to admire yourself. Thanks to the Vermont Novelty Toast Corp. you can take your face and burn it right into your breakfast.

That’s right, company founder Galen Dively has created a way to make your first meal of the day a narcissistic experience for everyone sitting around the breakfast table. All you need to do is purchase the company's new toaster for $75 with a submitted selfie and Dively’s team does the rest.

"We just press some buttons and [the selfie] is cut out of sheet metal,” Dively said in an interview with ABC. The process includes sending your image to a computer where it is read by a plasma cutter and cut into a steel plate.

This is the same company that gained some notoriety already after releasing the Jesus toaster and raptor toaster a few years back, so it’s safe to say that Dively is dominating the medium of toast.

The idea for the selfie toaster came when Dively used his existing techniques for capturing logos onto toast in order to put a picture of him and his son on some bread. After that turned out so well Dively decided to capitalize on the idea.

And with our selfie-obsessed world ready to throw money at anything with its face on it, this was a no-brainer. However, not all toast is created equal, and Dively gave ABC some tips on which bread to put your mug on.

“You want to choose a bread that's not very airy. White bread works really well, but I've used Ezekiel bread. It all depends on the design, too. If the design has more fine details, then you really want to get a fine-grain bread," he told the site.

Some artists work in paints, others in oils; Dively has decided to forego traditional canvases by working solely in the crusty world of wheat, white, rye and maybe the occasional pumpernickel. It may seem like a niche market, but in a world where the selfie is king, Dively’s Best Toaster Oven appeals to an entire generation.

If you really want to have fun, don’t tell your friends about your selfie toaster and see what they say when they see your face staring back at them from their plate.
