Paid Android Apps Should Get Cheaper As Google Lowers Minimum Price In 17 Countries

Apps from Google Play are now available at a much lower price in 17 countries.

Google announced that it has reduced the minimum price of apps in order to provide developers with increased flexibility and to meet the unique challenges and opportunities found in every market. At present, Google Play is available in over 190 countries and consumers' purchasing behavior is unique in every market.

The company said that they have adapted Google Play pricing options in a way that would make it more suitable to the local consumers, while also providing more accessibility to its content.

Following a successful pilot launch in India earlier this year, the new pricing options will take effect in countries such as Turkey, Indonesia, Vietnam, Russia and Brazil. Google believes that slashing off the prices to make paid apps cheaper would make the content look more appealing to consumers, eventually bringing higher revenue and return for the developers.

"We've worked to adapt Google Play pricing options to better suit local consumers and make content more accessible," said Google.
