‘Final Fantasy 7’ Remake Could Be Coming To The Nintendo NX: Rumor

According to rumors, Final Fantasy 7 could be heading to the Nintendo NX. Even though Nintendo refuses to comment further about its next-generation gaming platform until 2016, talks about the titles that are going to be on it are already making rounds on the Internet.

In a Nintendo Direct presentation, it was announced that Cloud Strife and his trusty Buster Sword are making their way to Super Smash Bros. for Wii U and 3DS, and they're coming along with a stage inspired by Shinra's Mako-energy-powered capital city, Midgar.

Taking a look at Nintendo and Square Enix's history, the two have had their share of disagreements when Square Enix decided to partner up with Sony during the PlayStation 1 and N64 era, but Cloud's arrival to the smash hit fighting game suggests that they are no longer in a patchy relationship at least, not to mention that Dragon Quest X rolled out exclusively on the Wii U.

On top of that, Square Enix mentioned that the upcoming Dragon Quest XI could possibly land on the Nintendo NX. Also, Final Fantasy XIV: Realm Reborn is rumored to hit the Nintendo NX when Square Enix's Naoki Yoshida started to ask about the console's release date and cross-platform capability.

Although nothing is official yet, except for Cloud joining the Super Smash Bros. lineup, the evidence indicates that Square Enix is actively trying to get their games on the Nintendo NX. It's also worth mentioning that the Final Fantasy 7 remake is not exclusive to the PlayStation 4, but it will be launched on it first.

With the recent developments that unfolded between Nintendo and Square Enix, the idea of a Final Fantasy 7 remake on the Nintendo NX doesn't seem to be too crazy, but as usual, we should take this with a pinch of salt and contain our excitement, no matter how hard it is.
