When it comes to virtual reality (VR), Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg has made it no secret that he's a huge fan — and it isn't a huge surprise that Facebook users on iOS can now view 360-degree videos on the platform, finally catching up to their Android-based compadres, and use Samsung's VR tech to do it.
As The Next Web pointed out, the fact that iOS users were slow on the receiving end for the update is a considerably rare occasion; Facebook Android users were granted access for 360-degree video viewing on the social media site this past September.
Facebook has also teamed up with Samsung to make its videos Gear VR-friendly, allowing users to watch posted content like iPhone vids, clips and more with the phone tech company's Oculus-powered headset.
The platform now also has the chops to upload 360-degree footage from cameras like IC Real Tech, Theta and more.
The only downside? Facebook can now host 360-degree video advertisements on its website, which will most likely mark a major uptick in immersive, interactive marketing.
