Check Out These Mad New Character Posters For 'Alice Through The Looking Glass'

There are only six months left before Disney's "Alice Through the Looking Glass" release in theaters worldwide and Disney is making sure everyone is hyped for it. Disney released five new character posters featuring the film's main cast: Alice, Mad Hatter, White Queen, Red Queen and the new character, Time.

In the Disney Alice Facebook page, the official account of the 2010 adaptation of "Alice in Wonderland," a new album has been created titled "Alice Through the Looking Glass First Look Characters" which contains the five new character portrait posters each holding a very important item that is central to the plot of the film.

"Alice Through the Looking Glass" is the sequel to the 2010 film and takes off when Alice Kingsleigh returns to London after the voyage she took at the end of "Alice in Wonderland." This time, instead of falling down the rabbit-hole, Alice returns to the Underland via a looking glass and she discovers that some things are different, specifically, with the Mad Hatter.

Alice then sets out on a mission to go back in time to save her kooky friend and Underland itself using a chronosphere. However, while her action gains her some new friends, it will lead her to become enemies with Time himself.

Mia Wasikowska reprises her role as the curious Alice Kingsleigh and so do Johhny Depp as the Mad Hatter, Helena Bonham Carter as the hot-headed Red Queen and Anne Hathaway as the "perfect" White Queen. Also joining them this time around is Sacha Baron Cohen as the Lord of Time.

Yes, Time Travel is involved and No, it's not part of the original story by Lewis Carroll. However, the screenplay is written by Linda Woolverton, the same person who penned "Alice in Wonderland" and the Oscar nominated film, "Maleficent" so the plot would most likely be interesting.

"Alice Through the Looking Glass" will hit theaters on May 27, 2016.
