Liv Gambles With Major's Life On 'Max Wager,' Promo For Upcoming 'iZombie' Episode

In last week's episode of iZombie, titled "Love & Basketball," resident zombie sleuth Liv and her ex-fiancee (and ex-zombie, by way of Ravi's depleted antidote) put the brakes on a rekindled relationship as the show's writer's focused a bit more on their platonic chemistry rather than their, well, general chemistry.

But with the CW's release of the promo for the upcoming episode "Max Wager," it looks like any romance might be out of the question between the undead and the very much alive if the latter wants to stay that way. Then again, the fact that Liv ingests the brain of a recently deceased gambling man to solve his murder (which might be the doing of Seattle's most dangerous criminal) might have Liv taking a few more risks than usual—including betting on Major's life.

At least there's something to look forward to: just as Detective Babineaux is starting to piece together Liv's true identity, viewers will finally get the Clive back story we've been promised since season 1, and it looks like former Big Bad Blaine's dad is dropping by for a little father-son time.

Here is the CW's official synopsis for "Max Wager":

"Liv (Rose McIver) unwittingly crosses paths with the most dangerous man in Seattle while investigating the murder of degenerate gambler Harry (guest star Ray Galletti). Detective Babineaux (Malcolm Goodwin) has a super-fan moment when he and Liv question NBA Hall of Famer Calvin Owens (guest star Rick Fox) at Harry's funeral. Meanwhile, Blaine's (David Anders) father (guest star Robert Knepper "Prison Break") makes a huge discovery, and Ravi (Rahul Kohli) delivers some bad news. Lastly, Evan (guest star Nick Purcha) has a big secret to share with Liv, and Major (Robert Buckley) continues to struggle."

iZombie airs at 9 p.m. Tuesdays on The CW.
