The warm temperature inside a human's ear could attract insects of all kinds to creep in at night while the victim is fast asleep. Just recently, a man caught a spider inside his ear and asked a friend to flush it out while videotaping the whole thing.
There are many ways to remove insects inside the ears and most doctors prefer using tweezers. However, in a confined space like the ear canal, evacuation of the foreign object might be a daunting task.
Most individuals would immediately seek medical attention to remove the spider but this man's friend cool-headedly and smartly dropped ear solution inside the ear canal. He intends to drown the spider and as soon as he filled the ear with the solution, the spider slowly went out into the open.
Evidently unwilling to evacuate and leave his new-found abode, he stayed in the man's ear lobe. When the man dropped more ear solution inside the ear, the spider gave up and fled away.
This video is just one of the many ones uploaded in the internet showing spiders and other insects being removed from ears of terrified victims. Last September, a woman from Xiamen, China sought medical attention when she heard scratches inside her ear.
Apparently, a spider decided to stay in her ear as it surprisingly had woven a protective web around itself. The Doctors placed the insect to sleep before extracting it.
In another province in China, a man was flabbergasted after discovering he had a cockroach living in his ear which unfortunately, gave birth to 25 little cockroaches. A total of 26 cockroaches were removed from his ear.
Aside from spiders, there are other insects that might be lodged in ears. Various videos in the internet show people having insects like moth, fruit fly larvae, maggots, crickets, cockroaches, and bed bugs.
Foreign objects dislodged inside the ear canals could lead to manifestations like discomfort, pain, scratching sounds, and inflammation. However, for kids who do not know how to explain the discomfort they are feeling, parents could observe for signs of purulent discharge, bleeding or hearing loss.
