Even if Sony made no official announcement about the release of its Xperia Z5 models in the United States, two handsets from the series can already be purchased by U.S. clients.
The first is the flagship of the line, so customers who were eager to get their hands on the unlocked Xperia Z5 could do so via Expansys, at a price of $669.99.
The second one is the Xperia Z5 Compact, and you can get it through Amazon. To be precise, you may place orders at two third-party vendors which operate through Amazon.
Since the device is not officially launched by Sony in the U.S., the Xperia Z5 Compact is an international variant. This means that buyers get no warranty for the handset when they order it through Amazon.
For the brave customers who believe in their good luck, Z5 Compact comes in four color schemes: white, yellow, coral red and, of course, black. The finishing brings a small price difference, and depending on what color your choose the price tag varies between $530 and $540.
In terms of mobile networks, T-Mobile and AT&T users are in luck, as the handset is compatible with the carriers. People who have Sprint and Verizon SIMs will have to settle for another Xperia model, as the Z5 Compact is incompatible with the CDMA carriers.
The Xperia Z5 Compact shares a few traits with the larger models from Sony: the Snapdragon 810 processor, a powerful octa-core, sits under the hoods of the Xperia Z5 and Xperia Z5 Premium as well. As the name suggests, Xperia Z5 Compact has increased portability due to its smaller size. The 4.6-inch display sports a 720 x 1280p resolution is sensibly smaller than the 5.2-inch display on the Xperia Z5 or the 5.5-inch on the Xperia Z5 Premium. All Sony's handsets are water and dust resistant.
The Xperia Z5 Compact can take quality pictures with its 23 MP rear camera, equipped with phase detection auto focus. For selfies, the camera of 5 MP on the front of the phone gets the job done. An Adreno 430 GPU, 2 GB of RAM and microSD card support are other important hardware features. Sony packed a 2700 mAh battery in the mini version of Z5. On the software side, Android 5.1.1 Lollipop makes the wheels spin for the Xperia Z5 Compact.
Until the producer of the handset launches a United States version, fans of the Xperia series may purchase the international version of the Xperia Z5 Compact.
