Nintendo Switch 2 Leak: Fact or Cap? Here's What We Know so Far

It's hard to ignore these leaks, but it's still early to confirm what leaks are real or not.

Nintendo Switch 2 leaks are everywhere, but it's hard to believe all these reports except for the confirmation from the Big N about its March 2025 release.

Apparently, a leak involving the new console's appearance had fueled some wild rumors in the gaming world.

How much do we believe it? Let's dissect this leak and detail what is possible and what we should never count on.

The Alleged Leak: CAD Images and Hardware Photos

Recently, several images of what has been speculated to be the Nintendo Switch 2 circulated online, claiming that they consisted of computer-aided design renderings and actual hardware. Although they did generate buzz, questions were brought forth as to their legitimacy.

A Reddit user, MisterSheeple, first broke the news of the leak but later clarified that the CAD images may not be authentic. This is what he said:

"The CAD renders may not be legitimate. It wasn't stated that the renders were mockups; however, the original poster was a 3D modeling enthusiast, so it's a possibility that needs to be considered."

Although the CAD images might be faked, they think that pictures of actual hardware are still believable.

3D Printed Components or Factory-Built?

Adding fuel to the fire, another Reddit user advanced the theory that the hardware in the pictures could be 3D printed. However, not everyone buys into this theory. They claimed that the images show no signs of 3D printing artifacts, such as support marks and surface flaws, associated with 3D-printed objects.

Moreover, the colors in the photographs are separated wonderfully. This would require advanced 3D printing technology that is scarce for regular machines. Are the photos finally real, or must we deal with an expert hoax?

Are the Specs Real?

And it is said that the leak also carries some rumored Nintendo Switch 2 specs with it. A removed post from Reddit claims that the source is someone allegedly connected to GeekShare—a company that also deals with accessories for video games. However, there are talks galore regarding whether these details are accurate.

VideoGamesChronicle, in a similar fashion, also comments on the leak. According to a source briefed on what Nintendo is doing but not shown the final console, the leaked images bear out the information they've been given about what to expect from a new design.

This does not necessarily mean that the leaks are accurate, but it may mean that the images will not be far from what the final product might look like. The leaked specs, corroborating previous information data miners found, seem to validate the rumor.

Is It Worth All the Hype?

While this might be what dreams are made of, there's a pretty good case for skepticism. If the CAD images are fake, can we believe in the photos, or is the information leaked otherwise? Indeed, perhaps the leakers were making an informed guess since quite a few things align with what sources have shared.

However, before we know everything, we may have to wait for the official confirmation from Nintendo. Other reports indicate that the official reveal of the Switch 2 may come early next month.

Is the Switch 2 Leak Legit?

Ultimately, we are left with a cocktail of potentially accurate information and much uncertainty. Given that some details appear genuine, the authenticity of leaked images is doubted. Something is specific: given the excitement for Nintendo's next console, we will know if these rumors hold any truth before long.

Nintendo has yet to comment on this, but we may not have to wait much longer to know the truth.
