Crypto.com's Operations in Sports
Throughout the years, there has been massive controversy faced by Crypto.com, and among these was its costly mistake where it accidentally sent $7.2 million to a customer because of a typo. It is known for being dragged on in court, with the customer refusing to give the money back, but the judge presiding over it ruled in favor of the crypto company.
Moreover, it is also known for being endorsed by Matt Damon when it first started, along with other celebrities and personalities.
However, in 2021, Crypto.com made a bold move towards being the sponsor in sports, partnering with Los Angeles to take over the iconic Staples Center, now known as the Crypto.com Arena. This downtown LA stadium is known for being the home of the Los Angeles Lakers, Los Angeles Clippers, Los Angeles Sparks, and the NHL's Los Angeles Kings.
Apart from the NBA, WNBA, and NHL, Crypto.com has also formed partnerships with the likes of Formula 1 and the UFC, deeply embedding themselves as an icon in the sports world.
Crypto.com is now venturing towards the world of football in Europe, recently snagging a three-year sponsorship deal to the UEFA Champions League, EU's biggest football competition.
